I’d say it’s not worth paying for travel and accommodation to visit EGX just yet, if you don’t live so close to London. Maybe things will pick up for the event in the future but it feels like it’s not quite there right now.

I saw your Monkey Island review! I finished it over the weekend so we’ll have to compare notes… while throwing in as many pirate puns as we can, obviously.

I’ve not been to Insomnia for a few years, but last time it felt very focused on content creators, meetups and competitions – plus there’s a huge LAN party. I’d like to go again one day because I’ve never joined in with the latter before, but Pete and I keep saying we’re too old to camp out on the floor of the NEC. 😆

Looks like EGX will be in London in mid-October next year. It would be great to arrange something!

Aw, thanks for the kind words! There are a couple of events coming up before the end of the year so there’ll be more photographs soon. 😀

I really do hope EGX picks up and returns to its former glory. It feels as though there are currently far fewer gaming events in the calendar than there used to be (understandable due to COVID), and it would be a shame to lose another one.

It’s not too bad for us as it’s about an hours’ drive to the ExCeL, but I don’t think it would be worth the time and money if we had to pay for travel and accommodation. Maybe that will change eventually. It’s such a shame, because EGX used to be one of the highlights in the calendar.
